The Japan World Exposition (Osaka Expo ’70) is held (Mar. 15 – Sept. 13).
As the first official international exposition in Asia, Singapore, Ceylon (present-day Sri Lanka), Nepal, Burma (present-day Myanmar), Malaysia, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Republic of China (Taiwan), Philippines, Republic of Vietnam (South Vietnam) participated in national pavillions.
