・This site is basically for searching Japanese texts on modern and contemporary Asian art. English texts are included only for original English and full translation from Japanese or other languages. Any non-Japanese texts without Japanese translation are not included.
●Objects
・This database are mainly for exhibition catalogues, books (including non-serial documents of academic conferences and private publications), periodicals (including museum bulletins, academic journals, and other private publications), and academic papers which are not published in any forms above, such as doctoral dissertations.
・Articles in periodicals are limited to those of academic or archival value and do not include introductions or reviews of exhibitions.
・Articles in newspapers are only included for those qualified as particularly important.
●Region
・Subject Region means main subject of the book or article; Related Region means other regions such as authors not from the subject regions.
●Personal names
・The spellings of names basically follow the originals in the publications, but the orders are changed to the originals in each culture instead of European order (given name followed by family name). e.g., Seo-Bo [given name] Park [family name] →Park Seobo
・Rules of Romanization differ in some regions such as Korea. In such cases, we follow the originals in the publications in principle, including irregular personal spellings used by the artists themselves, except for the order change mentioned above. However, the Roman spelling in currently applied rules is indicated when the original is misspelled or too different from the former and is difficult to identify.
