Korean Art Grand Award Exhibition, the first open-call based exhibition organized by the Hankook Ilbo, is held (Jun. 9–Jul. 9 at National Museum of Contemporary Art, Seoul). Kim Whanki receives the Grand Prize with Where, in What Form, Shall We Meet Again. Kim Kulim is invited to participate, yet his work From Phenomenon to Traces, an installation to wrap the museum building with white cloth, is removed by the organizer.
