Sulaiman Esa and Redza Piyadasa hold the exhibition Toward a Mystical Reality between August 2 and 7 at the Institute of Language and Literature in Kuala Lumpur. Criticizing the imitation of Western art based on a science-oriented view and anthropocentrism, they focus on Asian philosophy, such as Zen, and release their manifest that provokes the experience of real space with temporality. Salleh Ben Joned urinates on a copy of the manifesto, causing a controversy among artists, critics, and poets.
