The First Xingxing (Stars) Exhibition is held (Sep. 27–Oct. 3 at the outdoor wall of the National Art Museum of China, Beijing). The group issues the statement that Picasso is their pioneer. The police interrupt the exhibition on the 28th, arresting Ma Desheng and Huang Rui. On the 29th, the exhibition is suspended, and the works are confiscated by the police.
