Xu Beihong stays in Santiniketan and visits various places in India from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1940. During his stay, Xu creates his master piece, The Foolish Old Man Moves a Mountai. He paints portraits of Rabindranath Tagore and Mahatma Gandhi and holds his solo exhibitions at International University in Calcutta from Dec. 23 and at the Indian Society of Oriental Art in February next year. Before and after these exhibitions, he also visits Singapore.
