Japanese military founds Keimin Bunka Shidosho (Institute for People’s Education and Cultural Guidance), and its branch is opened in Bandung, Yogyakarta, and Surabaya. The New Java Life Art Exhibition is held in April and continued to the 5th exhibition in 1945. The director of Art and Craft Department is Agus Djaya, and the tutoring committee members include Kono Takashi (graphic designer), Yamamoto Tadashi (painter), and Ono Saseo (manga atist).
