In the late 1940s, Suzuki Shigenari begins teaching in the modern art course at the School of Cambodian Art. He teaches French-influenced Impressionistic realism until the 1950s. He also creates royal portraits. He holds his solo exhibition once a year, and King Sihanouk collects some of his paintings.
